(CNN Español) — El presidente Donald Trump aseguró que Venezuela vive un momento “muy interesante” y que Estados Unidos tiene a ese país “rodeado”.
“Lo tenemos rodeado a un nivel que nadie sabe, pero ellos saben”, dijo Trump durante una conferencia telefónica con miembros de la comunidad hispana de Estados Unidos.
Sin dar más detalles, el mandatario dijo que “algo sucederá, porque no lo vamos a aguantar”. Además agregó que su gobierno ha sido duro con Venezuela en lo que respecta al petróleo y las sanciones.
CNN está intentando obtener una reacción del gobierno del cuestionado presidente Nicolás Maduro.
Estas declaraciones se producen en medio de las habituales tensiones entre ambos países.
A principios de mayo, el gobierno de Maduro aseguró que había derrotado un intento de invasión a través de las costas del litoral central venezolano y responsabilizó a Estados Unidos y Colombia de liderar la iniciativa. Washington y Bogotá negaron tales acusaciones.
Hace pocos días el gobierno de Trump anunció que está considerando tomar represalias contra Irán por los envíos de combustible a Venezuela.
(CNN Spanish) - President Donald Trump assured that Venezuela is experiencing a "very interesting" moment and that the United States has that country "surrounded".
"What we have at a level that nobody knows, but they know," Trump said during a conference call with members of the Hispanic community in the United States.
Without giving more details, the president said that "something will happen, because we are not going to bear it." He also added that his government has been tough on Venezuela in regards to oil and limitations.
CNN is trying to get a reaction from the government of the questioned President Nicolás Maduro.
These statements come amid the usual tensions between the two countries.
In early May, the Maduro government claimed that it had defeated an attempted invasion through the coasts of the Venezuelan central coast and held the United States and Colombia responsible for leading the initiative. Washington and Bogotá deny story accusations.
A few days ago, the Trump government announced that it is considering retaliating against Iran for fuel shipments to Venezuela.
